Keyboard Question

Do I need to replace my keyboard on my PC. I have Windows XP.
From tonight, I am in the middle of typing stuff on here and it keeps randomnly jumping to other screens when I press certain letters. Also the File/Edit/View boxes randomly open as well when I am typing, and I have to click the box shut and go back to typing. SOOO ANNOYING!!
Any ideas or is it a new keyboard. Some of the letters have completed faded as I use it a lot.

that's funny, spooky, my keyboard was playing up tonight also, all I did was take it out at the back of the pc, then put it back in, problem solved, then I turned the whole system off as I realised that it was thundering and lightening outside, turned it all back on a couple of hour's later and everything is back to normal, incidently my keyboard and mouse are brand new.
