Noddle and Credit Check verification problems- do I need to be worried?

I just tried to sign up for Noddle as the Call Credit Statutory report is currently not available on-line.
(There is no info about it on their website so I've wasted good 30 min going round in circles)

I was refused because the system could not verify my identity.

It then came back to me that I had the same problem with Call Credit. It took ages to resolve and had to waste a lot of time chasing them. They never explained what the issue was.

Good to know that they still haven't fixed the problem.

Would the lender/insurer be told the same? That they have no idea who the hell I am?

I've been at my current place for 10 years and was always registered for voting, same CC for over 6 years, so really I am at a loss at how they've managed to !!!! that up.

Potential lenders will be able to see your credit history etc.

The problem is likely to be that they are struggling to verify you are who you say you are (which obviously they must do before they release such very confidential information to you).

If you request your statutory credit report in the post 9£2) you will be able to see what potential lenders would see when they perform a credit search.

  • When I first tried to register with Noddle it couldn't verify me. I had tried to register with my HSBC visa debit card which is connected to my current account with overdraft but because my account was opened in 1999, prior to HSBC reporting to the credit agencies, they held no record of that account and so could not use it to verify me.

Same thing happened when I used my First Trust visa debit card (Northern Irish Bank, don't report).

I was able to register no problem on my third attempt using my Barclaycard credit card as Barclaycard do report to Callcredit/Noddle and so do hold a verifiable record of my identity.

When I was able to read my credit report on Noddle I could see my Co-op current account on there, so I could also have used that visa debit card to verify my identity. My other 2 current accounts were not listed as they don't report.

Hope this helps, as I was getting very frustrated too!

Noddle just got back to me- they have no idea why I was refused, as the checks are done by a computer!

    Will ask for Statutory Report.

I might be over-thinking this, but I started getting worried that my address on the Electoral Roll is entered in a funny way.

I had to correct info held by the other CRAs that I am not on Electoral Roll, there must be a reason for it?

Is Data Protection Subject request worth doing?
