the problem I have now got is, 'Please Wait' going round and round in circles, tried ctrl,alt and delete...nothing!
In my frustration I just closed it down and switched it off, wrong I know but I needed to use it this morning. GRRRR

    When you say download, do you mean Windows Updates? This Tuesday's updates included IE11 for Windows 7 users ... it's a big file that takes quite a time to make the necessary changes.

    Worst thing to do when a computer is updating. Never turn it off.

    Just leave it running. Ive known them to take all night to sort themselves out.

    I think it checks all the files to make sure they are not corrupt. Or roll it back and start the update again.

    Switched on and went straight to my last web page viewed, no problems since.
