Direct Debit Setup For 30th

This is probably a stupid question, but if I setup a Direct Debit to pay my credit card balance on the 30th of every month, what happens in February (28 or 29 days only!)? Is there any chance the payment will skip and I'll get charged?

You can't choose a direct debit date. You can choose a statement date, from which the DD date is then derived (roughly, because statement dates can vary month-to-month).

As to what happens in February, then perhaps best to work on the assumption that it'll be called on the 28th. Or ring the card provider and ask them.

And no, you'll never miss a payment with a DD because they're in charge of collection.

With some providers you can request the payment date, but they always tell you to read your statement as the date given can only be used as an approximation. For example, if you are paid on the 25th, then you can say "On or after the 26th" and you can be sure it'll never be taken before that date. Your statement date will be roughly about 20 days before the payment date.
