"Courier" credit card scam alive and kicking

Just to say the courier credit card scam is still alive and kicking. They arrested a group of people in Croydon for this recently but I had a call only yesterday from someone claiming to be "Sergeant Purdie" of Paddington Police station wanting to advise me my card numbers were being misused. If you do get one of these calls, and are not familiar with the scam, they are very convincing. They will encourage you to call the police and check them out but in fact when you put the phone down to call the police and check, the scammers are still on the line now pretending to be the police. Don't be taken in.

This too can be played down the phone.
The Police/bank will not call and ask for these details over the phone nor will they pick the physical card up from an address.0
