Cleaning LCD TV screen

Anyone have any personnel recommendation for getting greasy finger prints off a TV screen?
Junior 5 has been pointing at the honey monsters again.
Tried a product from "Dr Magic, ultimate screen cleaner".
To be honest it's awful, even tried on a clean bit of screen it leaves it terribly streaked.
Microfibre cloth with pure water seems to be recommended, but.....

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Hi cyclonebri1
I use a dry microfiber cloth to dust my LCD television which does a good job but then I don't have a junior with greasy fingers smearing my screen.;)
If I had your problem, I would get a bowl of hot water with a squirt of Fairy Liquid. I would wet a small area of the microfiber cloth but don't soak it, then wipe the screen with the dampened cloth.
The Fairy Liquid should remove the greasy marks, just as it does when you do the washing up/wash the dirty pots.........if you don't have a dishwasher.;)
Use a separate, clean and dry microfiber cloth to dry off and polish the screen.
Let us know how you get on.

Just did mine this morning as above, grandkids were round and they seem to think every screen is a touchscreen, so loads of grubby fingerprints on the TV! Whatever you do don't use paper tissue as the fibres can scratch the screen.
I also find normal window cleaner works well, spray a bit on the cloth rather than on the screen, and polish with a clean cloth."I ache, therefore I Am."0 -
Yes, that does seem to be the standard advice, I had had a quick look before I posted the query.
The annoying thing is I'm talking a 55" 2 week old TV here (my mistake it's led not lcd)
The stuff I've had sat by the previous tv for a year or so was never needed, and I've just found it really is rubbish.
Now I have to say I had already done exactly what you suggest, very little fairy liquid on a wet MF cloth, just took ages and several repeats and I don't like touching let alone wiping a delicate screen like these are. Has just about got there though, microfibre suede clothes are available so I guess that's the way to go.
I guess I should have mounted it a little higher on the wall:DI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Yes it was 1 of my grandkids, bless'im:D
But, the advice I read said not to use window cleaner, so you may want to be carefulI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Isopropanal mixed 50/50 with water. Similar to lens cleaner for spectacles. Great for glass, tiles, plastics, computers etc. Strong but not harsh.
Mix your own and save £££s. I've used it for years and it is excelent. As said delicate stuff like PC/TV screens appply to the cloth not the object.
Here is a cheap source of supply. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/solvents-online/Isopropanol-5-litres-/_i.html?_fsub=44379840120 -

LCD cleaner is pretty cheap now. I picked up a set on eBay which included a microfiber cloth for around £2
Something like this but plenty around

Strange. I originally purchased a Philips LCD cleaner and then the 2nd cheaper one came as a £2 optional extra with a flat screen bracket and both have been ok and do not leave any streaks.0 -
Use spectacle cleaning spray with a microfiber cloth. Works really well, clears fingerprints and dust off with no streaks.
You can pick them up in most opticians or online."Real knowledge is knowing the extent of one's ignorance."0
