depends how much data you have, and how many backups you want to store, a 1TB portable would probably do it, but you may get away with smaller if you have less data, usb3 is faster than usb2!!

I've just ordered this one in 1TB I hope its ok.
Its a nightmare picking one as they all seem to have a lot of bad reviews as well as some good ones. I'm not completely happy with it but I had to get something.
