Not wrong, but if you're up to making a pastry case and meringue successfully, the filling will be a piece of cake (or pie). Make sure you keep stirring, and don't let it catch.
I bet the packet contains many more ingredients than you list above  Does it still have that "pearl" in itwich I assume contains the lemony bits

Yes to the lemony pearl
Which definately doesnt contain the same amount of lemon juice as 2 lemons.
Although it does smell nice when it pops

My husband LOVES lemons, and he wants me to make lemon meringue pie... I NEVER have cornflour in the kitchen... do I HAVE to use cornflour to make lemon meringue pie???
If not, does anyone have a recipe???We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

You'll need something to thicken the filling. You might be able to use custard powder - do you have that (it's essentially cornflour with flavour and colour)?
I'll see if I can finf a LMP thread ............ here you go - a couple of recipes, but all have cornflour.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Yes... I have custard powder somewhere!!!
Now that sounds like a nice alternative...!
but maybe I should buy cornflour... i just know i'll never use it again! We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Buy some cornflour! Once you have it in the house you'll find a million uses for it. You can use it to thicken stews and sauces, or use in shortbread to give a lovely light texture0

I've used cornflour in the past... but I hate that taste/consistency it gives my food. Hence why I am so desperate not to buy any!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Are you sure you cooked it enough, and didn;t use too much? I never taste cornflour in any of the food I use it in
I like to make sauces using a roux, but if I'm in a hurry, I like to be able to whip up a sauce in minutes :T:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Maybe I did use too much! I remember mixing it with water and getting a thick gloup and then put that into my meal (watering it down more)! Maybe it's mind over matter and I hate the gloup!
Maybe I should buy some and try it (especially since some of my soups can be thin)!!
When using it do you just add it or dissolve it first??We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240
