Yes thanks....though unfortunately unlike you obviously, I don't have a 100% retention rate.

So which bits is it okay to disregard as a driver?

Are you seriously telling me you know every single law of the road? You could take a driving theory test now and pass 100%?

I doubt it, now if you want to get of that high horse I think myself and most people on this board would appreciate it!

If I didnt,I certainly would ensure I clarified it as soon as possible

Then you had either better start learning the book again or start making threads.

There was no harm in my thread, it was purely intrigue but you decided to be a clever d1.ck over it....well done.

I was driving home tonight and noticed in the cycle lane instead of riding one behind another that two cyclists were riding aside of each other.

Are there any rules to riding on a cycle lane or were what they were doing acceptable? (the one on the right did ride close to the line and did slip over it at least once)

    This is just intrigue cheers.

Given your opening post,I need to read 'the book' again?
Seems to me you weren't really interested in the 'rules',merely those inconsiderate cyclists dared to veer into your lane

Where did you get that presumption from then? Intrigue led me to ask the question, being a smartass led you to answer it in a smarmy manner.

And, yes from your insinuations if you don't know every single rule of the road (like I didn't know this one) then yes, yes you do need to read the book.

Others answered the question nicely...might be something you wish to improve on

I'm fairly sure you wouldn't know all the 'basic' ones. I'm going to leave it now because you are only trying to be clever and failing miserably.

Not entirely sure what's going on here, but I'll also throw in the fact that most cycle lanes have advisory speed limits of around 18mph. This is for cyclist and pedestrians safety. How many drivers would drive less than 1ft from the kerb at speed?
Beyond this speed a cyclist is expected to move out of the cycle lane.....

Thats on shared use paths, a different type of lane to the one in the OPs question and one which isn't featured on roads. There is no obligation on the cyclists part to move out of an on road cycle lane if they are going more than 18mph.

You have a good point re the less than 1 foot aspect, I wouldn't cycle less than a foot away from the curb as you're probably going to be cycling in all the detritus and muck (danger of losing traction/higher risk of falling off/punctures). Its also why a lot of cycle lanes simply arn't wide enough to be of use.
