Parking Eye - "ticket" revoked simply by phoning !

I'm in the process of trying to get a ticket cancelled via Parking Eye, what a palaver. I was doing voluntary work for the National Deaf Children's Society in a hotel in Ayr.
First I knew about it was a letter from Debt Recovery Plus, referring to previous correspondence from Parking Eye. We'd never received anything from Parking Eye.
Question on these fines; is it illegal to cover up your number plates in a car park? That's how they 'catch' you, but if they can't read your plates...:D0 -
You are in Scotland so the advice is different, you should have ignored this completely. Just search the forum for the keyword 'Scotland' and read results till you get bored of the IGNORE word, or read the sticky thread at the top 'newbies...have you got a private parking ticket? read this now!'. That sticky thread also shows you that you have a choice of sending (as keeper not driver!!) a robust get lost response to a debt collector which I think you should do since the keeper IS NOT LIABLE IN SCOTLAND.
Don't tell me you've given the game away about who the driver was though...please no reply here as this is another person's thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
