wouldn't worry about HSBC closing your account, they are the worst bank and I would advise anyone who is in financial trouble or close to it, and with them to run as fast as you can away from them!!0

SENT MY STATEMENT OF MEANS OFF TO THEM ASKING IF I CAN PAY 100 A MONTH TO CLEAR 750 OVERDRAFT AND GUESS  WHAT ANOTHER MANAGED LOAN  CAME!!!!! IF YOU SEE MY ORIGINAL THREADS THEY WANTED TO CLUMP MY CC BALANCE (WHICH WAS RUNNING OK, PAYMENTS ONTIME) TOGETHER WITH THE 750 OD MAKING IT COME TO APPROX £6500, AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY 100 A MONTH FOR TEN YEARS!!!! SO I TRANSFERRED CC BALANCE JUST LEAVING ME OWING THEM 750 AND ASKED THEM TO PAY 100 A MONTH TO CLEAR IT AND NOW THEY AGREED BUT ONLY IN A FORM OF A LOAN WITH INTEREST AT 13% I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO RETURN FORM SIGNED. I AM CLAIMING BANK CHARGES SO HOPE THAT, THAT COMES TO FRUITION AND I CAN AT LEAST ASK FOR AN EARLY SETTLEMENT FIGURE AND USE THE MONEY I HOPE TO HAVE BACK FROM CHARGES TO PAY THEM BACK. I AM SO ANGRY. THEY ARE DETERMINED LITTLE SHITES ARENT THEY? DONT KNOW IF ANYONE WILL MAKE SENSE OF THIS THREAD APART FROM PANIA!! BUT HAD TO SPILL MY GUTS.   :mad:DFW NERD....560

Cookie,
Don't do it! Ignore this offer and just confirm your offer in writing - send recorded and ensure you make the payments every month.
You can adapt the following for the purpose:
_______________________
Dear Sir/Madam
Account Ref:xxxxx OD Balance as at (date) £xxxx
As you are aware, I am currently actively managing my debts that I have incurred due to a change in my personal finances.
To this end, with reference to the above account I confirm that I am now able to afford to pay £100 on the xx day of each month to clear this overdraft at the earliest opportunity.
If interest or other charges are being added to the account I would be grateful if you would freeze these so that all payments made will reduce what I owe you.
I envisage my last payment being (date).
I appreciate your assistance in this matter and continued support as a responsible lender.
Many thanks
Yours faithfully

Yes, you do have a choice. Please don't sign the form - instead, speak to any of the debt advisory services, whether you've spoken to them before or not. Ask if a letter can be written to them on your behalf. Also ask a local councillor to help - I can't imagine the bank would keep pushing the loan if they got a letter querying why they seemed hell-bent on giving a loan to someone who already had a £750 debt with them & wanted to pay £100pm to clear it. You could end up back to square one with this debt if you take on the loan. Also, some loans, far from having an early settlement figure, impose a penalty for settling it early.:eek:BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

BUT PANIA, (SHIN PADS ON!!:rotfl: ) IF I IGNORE THIS THEY SAID I WILL BE IN DEFAULT, I HAVE ALREADY WROTE WHAT CAN BE DESCRIBED A BEGGING LETTER ASKING TO JUST PAY 100 A MONTH HOPING IT WILL BE 8 MONTHS TOPS(ALLOWING FOR INTEREST), IT SEEMS THEY ARE SAYING SIGN IT NOW OR WE PASS IT TO COURT! ALREADY HAVE A LLOYDS ACCOUNT. NOWT GOING IN OR OUT OF HSBC NOW .THEY WANT ME TO CUT UP MY CC CARD AND AUTOCHEQUE AND SEND IT BACK WITH SIGNED FORM.
(SAYS COOKIE WHO HAS MOVED FROM WALES TO SOMEWHERE ELSE!)
AS I SAID I MIGHT JUST SEE IF I WIN MY BANK CHARGES RECLAIM AND PHONE AND ASK THEM TO SEE WHAT SETTLEMENT FIGURE THEY OFFER.DFW NERD....560

Hi Cookie,
I can't believe that they can do this if you are making regular payments.
I really think you need to get some advice from Payplan.
[strike]They are effectively charging you £97 per month against your payment of £100! What a bunch of scumbags!![/strike]
Ignore that - I just realised I have miscalculated!!!!
The payment schedule would be as follows:
Payment Balance Int
Jul-07 £750.00 £100.00 £650.00 £7.18
Aug-07 £657.18 £100.00 £557.18 £6.15
Sep-07 £563.33 £100.00 £463.33 £4.95
Oct-07 £468.28 £100.00 £368.28 £4.07
Nov-07 £372.35 £100.00 £272.35 £2.91
Dec-07 £275.26 £100.00 £175.26 £1.94
Jan-08 £177.19 £100.00 £77.19 £0.85
Feb-08 £78.04 £78.04 £0.00 £0.00
They would be charging you £28.05 total in interest over these months.
Is there no other way of doing this? No possibility of your applying for a lower life of balance card that you can BT to?
I personally, would still send the letter and make the payments - even just to stall.
