    Wouldn't that cause the turbo bearing to fail, rather than the seals?
    It's when the seals blow that the engine can runaway on a diesel.

    Similar issue. I think my sisters turbo blew from a lack of oil. And the little oil that it did have had been in there for far too many miles.

    Contaminated oil or oil thats just been in there too long. Not able to do its job properly.
