My laptop uses usb 1.1 so the extra speed of usb 2 is of no benifit as it only transfers data at 1.1. Is there anything I can buy to change my laptops usb 1.1 to usb 2,is it worth doing?
Thanks in advance.

You can by a USB 2.0 PC card to stick into your laptop."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

I suspect that USB 2 card would need CardBus compatibility.0

Also, would I be better off with a card in which a power cable is included, plus i see there are also USB & Firewire CardBus PCMCIA Cards. Have no idea what a power cable or firewire does.

The power cable is used to power the USB card if your laptop does not support powering the card. Firewire is a faster way of trandfering files than either USB 1.1 or 2, it's more commonly used for video cameras and Ipods.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0

Is there anything like this for upgrading from 1.1 to 2.0 on a normal PC - Ive got a Tiny Pc thats about 3 years old with 2 usb on the front and 2 on the back.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Yep - you can get a USB2 PCI card (though with this you will have to open the machine)
You can get USB and firewire and PATA and SATA (HD connectors) all on one card if you want them0
