Has anyone else had issues with their laptop battery life since installing 8.1? I've gone from 5-6 hours to 1.5-2 hours max, if I'm not doing anything, less if I'm doing stuff.
Any suggestions for tweeks that might improve things? At the moment it's pretty useless if I need to take it away from a power point.

Are there any apps still running in the background? A side swipe from the left of the screen should reveal.
Another possibility, have you got many live tiles constantly updating and changing the images via internet connection?... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
I deleted all the tiles I only have about 3 left
I use it for business use so all I use it Outlook, excel, powerpoint, word, the only other app I have active is weather, I've just turned that off, see if that makes a difference.
I had a look on task manager and can't see anything untoward there that could be eating the battery, the app history is showing 0.0mb for all the other apps.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
What make?
I just updated my Samsung via the Windows store. When Windows update had completed I checked the Samsung SW Update app and found there were a load of new drivers to download for 8.1 (graphics, chipset, sound, wifi...). I've just checked my power settings and they seemed as they were prior to the update, but I've not had a chance to measure the battery life properly yet (still ongoing).
So - check your manufacturer's support website and see if there are new drivers to download for Win 8.1.Just broke, even.0
