Goldsmiths - watch exchange advice

I bought quite an expensive watch from goldsmiths earlier this year I took it back after a few weeks as the automatic mechanism was gaining time. Goldsmiths sent it away to tag heuer and 6 weeks later it came back, I asked the shop assistant what work had been carried out but she informed me that they are not given a report by tag. The watch has now started to gain time again, I am reluctant to have goldsmiths send it away again and would like them to offer me an exchange or refund as the watch is clearly not fit for purpose. Can anyone please offer me any advice on my rights here, before I take the watch back!!

What are you expecting? The accuracy of a Quartz? All Automatics will gain or lose time compared to a Quartz.
The watch can be regulated by a decent watchmaker without going back to Tag.0 -
How much time is it gaining ?0

Bump to see if the OP has an answer to any of the questions posed.
However if it is still in warranty, I would certainly expect TAG to service it for free if it is way out of specification.0 -
As you say if it is just out a little then it is the regulator that will need adjusted and possibly a couple of times. If it is gaining a lot of time it might be beyond regulator adjustment and will need to go Tag for repair under warranty.
But I for one wouldn't be sending it to Tag for minor adjustments.
I only ever wear automatic watches as I really can not be bothered with changing batteries but their is a compromise in accuracy (having said that my Seiko Kinetic from EBay Singapore has not missed a beat in 6 years) and my Chris Ward Aviator was stunning value and although not worn everyday still keeps good time.0
