Worrief jim how can banks be so imcompetant?

Mistakes happen, they seem to have offered you a fair and reasonable apology and explanation... Move on.

I'm sure in your own line of work you are less than perfect.

The ICO won't fine anybody for this.

The bank is not incompetent but someone who works for the bank has made a mistake. Maybe they made a typing or spelling error (a bit like the two in your post).
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

I am going to contact the ombudsman and ico as banks shouldn't be able to breach dpa and not be punished
A piece of good advice: When you do write to them, get someone who knows grammar and spelling to proof-read your letter before you send it. Your letters are likely to have more credence if your English is correct.
  • I made mistakes in my post as i am using my phone however i'm not dealing with anyones personal details or breaching the data protection act.
If i made errors like the bank have in my job role then i would be diciplined and possibly lose my job.
I haven't written this post to be critisied by know it alls i just merely seek some good advice

Bank is a generic term. Hasn't it occurred to you that someone possibly has lost their job? However you won't be told. As it's an internal matter.

Just because you don't like what you would like to hear doesn't make it bad advice. You had plenty of good advice already in this thread.
