  • Quite right! I saw bargepole's thread on his court case against ParkingEye, but I'm very much hoping mine won't get that far
  • RBS, from your "aye" you sound Scottish. Is this in Scotland? If so, you have already won as they can't use POPLA to get the driver's details and without them they can't do court. :-)
  • No, just work at an unspecified HE institution in the North of England - an horrendously unethical one, which as it turns out, does not value nor feel it has a duty of care to its low-level admin staff - so unfortunately I have to prove that these criminals are the criminals, and not me, I guess

Do any of the institutions mentioned therein apply?
  • Afraid not - it has nothing to do with hospitals, it is one of the University's own carparks.

Yep as above, just wait for the NTK and make sure all the correspondence is sent in your Mum's name as keeper thereafter. You can write it of course but put her name. Be aware that I think CPP may be non-compliant and late with the first letter which may be from a debt collector and look worrying. But the first letter IS the NTK.

Could anyone tell me what the non-compliant part of C-M's post means? The debt collector part already sounds pretty worrying!

The NtKs that the PPC send you through the post must arrive within a certain timescale and must contain language and guidance that is BPA compliant. Some PPCs knowingly send out NtKs that contain language and guidance that aren't compliant to scare you into paying - CPP may be one of these companies. So it's important that when you receive this NtK that you note all the dates and if possible, scan the front and back (remove any personal information) and post it here.

A non-compliant NtK is unenforceable, so it's an instant win.

Non-compliant with the requirements set out in Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 for a Notice to Keeper.

Try reading the Newbies ... thread. (Again, if you've read it already).

I read the newbies guide yesterday, but I just wasn't sure what CPP weren't in compliance with (there's a lot of new information to take in, too). Thanks for clarifying that jeanraffio, that does sound promising... The company are down on BPA as "Liberty Printers (AR & RF Reddin) Ltd also T/A Liberty Services Ltd and Car Parking Partnership Ltd", and also, are not registered for Debt Recovery, it seems -what does that part mean?

I don't know what that means?! All you can do is record when you received the windscreen ticket, and wait for that NtK to drop through your door - tell us those dates, then scan it and post it on here - further advice can be given then...

It just means they are not debt collectors and that is it, they can still use debt collectors to try and force you to pay this scam invoice.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
