The good news is that no potential lender will ever see your credit score that the credit reference agency sells to you.

All they see is the information on your credit report, if that is correct and has no negatives then perhaps the reason you were declined is not due to anything on your credit file.

Who did you apply for a new loan with?

Which credit reference agency file did you check? or have you checked all 3 agencies?
If you haven't checked all 3 - does the credit application search from your application last week appear in the searches section?

thanks for the reply i have had a look at all 3 credit reference agency and all 3 are nearly spot on call credit is missing 1 of my accounts but the info is all the same tick tick tick since 2008 wonder if it comes down to affordability because i work 2 part time jobs and only take out £1200 pm the lone app was with nationwide because santander said no to a top up of the lone i have with them now and that was arround 6 months ago.

Sounds like it could be affordability.
You may get a different answer once your santander loan is full paid off (and shown as such on your credit file). So it might be worth applying again in a couple of months.

Who do you bank with currently?

Your other credit account - is the a fixed repayment (loan/finance) or a revolving credit account such as a credit card or catalogue? if its the latter then if you can make sure you pay a little more than the minimum each month between now and when you reapply.
