Refurbished PVR

Hi,
I bought a refurbished Humax PVR at the end of August. I emailed them on 4th October as it had developed numerous faults and they agreed to replace it.
I received the replacement last week and it stopped working within hours.
Do I have a right to ask for a refund now or am I expected to keep going round in circles with refurbs that don't work?
Thanks,
Charlie

Yes I would have thought so and I think they will be only to pleased as it will be costing them a fortune in P+P charges. (Unless they go rogue on you and try to duck their responsibilities)0

They're saying replacement only.0

You do have the right to ask for a refund.
Unfortunately you only have the right to a remedy which could be either a repair, replacement or refund and you cannot force the seller to provide a remedy which is disproportionate.
However, the seller must provide the remedy without causing significant inconvenience, so you will have to keep taking the replacements until he runs out or it becomes significantly inconvenient.
p.s. he will never run out of refurb devices as long as he is able to refurbish the ones you return to him.0 -

So 6 months down the line I could still be sending back duff refurbs? I am £150 out of pocket here. I gave them the opportunity to remedy and they failed. It is massively inconvenient to spend my one day off in the week waiting for a courier!0 -

OK, OK... so you don't like the message... sorry about that.
It is not my fault.0 -

You are not £150 out of pocket, they are sending you a replacement.
Did you buy directly from Humax? If so they sell hundreds of refurb items and they generally have an excellent reputation - I expect it is just bad luck that you got two faulty items.0
