Bed Wetting!

Hope somebody on here my be able to help please.
Today my normally very well house trained 18 month old GSD has peed in the middle of my bed. I was sitting down putting my socks on ready to take her out. I cant believe she has done this she is normally really clean.
The only other time she did this was when we were house traing her when she was only a few months old but I dont think there is any connection to this today.
The only change in her life is that she was spayed 3 weeks ago, and a week after her surgery she had to go back to theatre because she had developed a haematoma under the scar. This delayed her recovery and it is only this week that she can again go off lead when out walking.
She is making a good recovery now although her behavior in general has been really naughty since her ops. I have put this down to her limited exercise as she was supposed to be taking it easy, but like any 18 month old GSD she has bounced off the walls!
Hope somebody may be able to offer some advice please.

Spaying can cause urinary incontinence but I would imagine it would be more obvious. Sounds like she was desperate to get out but didn't make it in time as you were putting your socks on etc?0

I wouldn't worry about a one off accident, but if it happens again I would take her to the vets.0

She could have been caught short, I was taking my time, although she hasnt done anything in the house since she was tiny.
I did wonder and a urinary weekness since her op but there have been no other times she has shown any signs of it.
Many thanks for your replies.DFW Nerd 1394.

Her muscles 'down there' are probably still weak, so holding on to a full bladder may be a little more difficult for a while.0

I was going to ask if she had been out for her morning wee? its early days after the op and if she had held it all night???????
I often wonder how dogs manage it...........I usually get up at least once or twice during the night for a wee!0 -
She had been out first thing for her morning wee, it was only about an hour later.DFW Nerd 1394.

One of my dogs, Pheobe, has an ongoing problem but Darcey was rolling on her back on the bed one day, I was tickling her tummy and a huge fountain appeared, bless her, there was no stopping it. But it remains her only accident in over 10 years.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0

It could simply be a straightforward case of "X marks the spot". A dog 'marking' on a bed is not an unusual occurence..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Get a good bedwetting alarm. I got the Chummie Bedwetting Alarm for my daughter. She is 8-years old. It took about 7 weeks, but my daughter has not wet the bed in the past 1 year.
Good luck!0
