VBA book recommendations

Options
Can anyone recommend a good book (or possibly website, but no videos) for VBA Excel 2007? I've had a look at a few on Amazon but it's not clear if any of them cover what I need. While I'm fairly sure I can find something to tell me how to select data from a worksheet based on a set of criteria input by the user, what I'm struggling to find is anything that tells me how I then use that data to create a chart, which is the end result that I want. I've done a lot of coding in my time, but it's been mainly of the Cobol/CICS/DB2 variety, and I'm a novice at VBA.

  • Not a book suggestion - but when I need to hack VBA together, i use the macro tool to record what I want to do, then examine the VBA it wrote and pull it apart for my needs

Depends what you need to know, really. I'd check out secondhand though as it is so out of date no point in buying new books at the silly prices they charge!

Basically all the API's and object models are on msdn (microsoft developer network site). Easiest way is to record the macro doing what you want, then hack about at the code using the object models to make constants variables, etc. VBA has a pretty simple IDE so you'll be up and running before you know it.
