So, I'm keen to experience the modern interface, and I've installed Office 2013 onto Windows 8.1.

I've set up Outlook email and have connected to an Exchange server and see my emails.

However, I have a box with "! Click here to turn on Instant Search" at the top of the middle pane in Outlook.

I click on it and I get a dialog informing me that "The Windows Search service is not installed.".

So, I look for the Windows Search service and it's not to be found.

I look on the interweb and it seems like Microsoft may have removed it?

I've also Looked up how to turn off the warning in Outlook, but the item in Outlook's Options doesn't exist. I also found a registry setting, but again it doesn't exist.

So, have Microsoft broken their own application?
