New car - where can I get a car key remote?

So, I've just bought a 2008 vw polo. Much to my upset the car has central locking but this is controlled by putting the key in the door lock. I've heard you can buy a remote key for the car which I'd be interested in, does anywhere know where I can get one?

Sounds like a trip to a VW dealer.0

If it doesn't have the remote unlocking feature already built in, you'll need an aftermarket kit. I'm not over familiar with VW specs but I know my step-son's 2008 Polo doesn't have remote locking.0

My daughter's Fiat Punto only had key operated central locking but I bought a kit off eBay for less than £10 to convert it to remote. Search for remote locking. It was fairly easy to fit, but I did find some instructions on a fiat forum which helped. Still working fine.0

It's well worth spending some time searching the internet for a local independent VW specialist or even some branches of Timpsons now do remote key programming, also have a look on ebay for traders offering this service... anything to keep you out of the hands of the dealer!!0

I think you had to go up the range before you got remote locking on the Polo. Even if your car had an upgrade, without an original, working remote, it would be very expensive to get another couple of fobs and have them coded to work on your car.0
