V948 form for reg plates - how'd you obtain one?

Our 'local' DVLA office is about 30 miles away.

How do you get one of these?

http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/uk-legal-plates/ is the reason i'm asking. I don't fancy sending off the V5C.

Why are you bothering with this?

If you want a set of UK legal plates you don't need any of that proof of identity and entitlement crap.

    See here:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-NUMBER-PLATES-1-PAIR-GB-EU-REGISTRATION-PLATES-MOT-DVLA-LEGAL-FREE-FIX-PACK-/190947063188?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c7554f594

There are several others - take your pick.

Quick and easy - no problems at all.

Looks like he wants pressed metal plates.

You could try the Post Office. They are normally a good source of forms
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    Correct.

If i just wanted plates then i'd have gone to eBay without asking.

I can get pressed plates too from eBay, but i got these & they're different to the pressed plates a co-worker has, which is what i was looking for actually. Turns out he got them from dubmeister.

You mean questionably semi-illegal ones like the ones discussed here:

  • No, i mean a V948 form, which is what this thread is about & not the legal/illegal debate of anything else. Too many threads on this forum go off topic.

The only places to get the V948 from are DVLA, DVA, or VOSA on the transfer or issue of registrations or the police in the case of your plates being stolen. (or in other words you aint gonna get one)

Looks like you've got a 60mile round trip then.

My apologies for going 'off-topic' as you saw it.

As long as you know the score - I'm not bothered.

I was trying to be helpful - as there are lots of folks who don't realise that legal or not they are an invitation to the local bobbies to have a chat about it. Most of them (the police, that is) don't understand the rules very well.

I just hope that the guy with the D symbol on his BMW numberplate doesn't try a trip to the 'Ring with them on.

The polizei in D'Land will take a dim view.
