Please help with inevitable battle

I retired my trusty 5kg washing machine in October 12 for a fancy 12kg all singing all dancing hoover washer from currys.
In dec 12 it started showing error codes so I contacted hoover who sent a repair man out and it was the heating element.
Last week my husband noticed that the door was freezing on a 90 wash, it is usually warm and the clothes are not coming out as clean as usual. Basically the water is not heating up.
I did not take an extended warranty and the 12 months is up since the middle of last month.
I know I'm going to have a battle on my hands but for the price I paid, I would expect longer than a year for heating element.
How do I handle this

Hoover's responsibility to you ended when the warranty ended.
You need to speak to Currys.
There are a number of people on this forum who know Currys' processes better than I do so I'll leave it there.
Except to say: have you read MSE's Consumer Rights guide yet?
Their How to Complain article is worth looking at too.0 -
Thank you, I thought it might be hoover themselves as they have already replaced the heating element0

Yes indeed Hoover do offer a twelve month guarantee on their repairs.
As can be seen on this page:
I would be suggesting to Hoover that their replacement heating element has failed.0
