We seem to be spending money everywhere on nothing and I think it's time to stop. We have an average family income I should think - possibly a little above average, an average mortgage, but above average utilities because our house is Victorian and big and also because we have six children. Every penny seems to be going on food, clothes etc, so I could use some ideas on how to cut down the expenditure. Like weightloss, I think it needs to be little changes at a time. We do not spend any money on holidays, eating out, the cinema or anything like that.

If its food money saving then look on the OS board, there are a few threads titled 'feed a family of ?? on X amount of £'s' IYSWIM. Plus, there is meal planning, that seems to help alot of people, they know what they're eating for the week, therefore it makes food shopping easier. Plus there is also the yellow stickered food too.

Clothes, then have you thought about charity shops? Or every now and again there is a good online sale, (great universal have one right now,) 75% off, an extra 20% off the total if your a new customer and then there is quidco for a bit extra too.
