Is anyone else currently buying in London? Isn't the frenzy putting you off?

Being white is not a requirement to be British. There are 3 times more British than foreigners in London.
Yes, of course, anyone can be British, as long as HMG hands them a bit of hard backed paper, called a passport.
Still, if I went to Lagos*, Nigeria and they gave me a Nigerian passport, do you really think that that would make me Nigerian?
Yes, technically it would, but back in the real world, no it wouldn't.
BTW, did you notice where I used the word indigenous? Do you understand what that means.
* And yes, I know the capital of Nigeria changed from Lagos to Abuja, some years ago.0 -

I left London in 2000, having lived there since 1973. I've never looked back
Never looked back, eh? So what are you doing spaffing on your moronic views on a post about dirty old London town? If you’ve never looked back then, surely, you’d have passed over this thread? Why does it concern you so much?
I think you just confirm what all us lucky dwellers of London always rather suspect. That most ex-Londoners who have upped sticks to the bog trotting, curtain twitching, brain rotting, UKIP sympathising, mouth breathing provinces have a permanent gaze fixed firmly on what’s going on in the cultural, economic, intellectual and financial capital of this fine country.0 -

It just goes to show that there isn't much brains left in London.
How about you read a little more of the thread you quoted?I left London in 2000, having lived there since 1973. I've never looked back, it's a s'hitehole.
My parents and inlaws (Twickenham & Acton) still live there, so I still do visit, but only under protest.
Which bit of that do you not understand?
PS I also have a house in London, which I'm currently selling. So I'm down there a fair bit at the moment.0 -

Lol, So true. So many expats are looking back with green eye's now. It really is the place to meet brilliant people and make amazing things happen these days...

We've never had such an entrepreneurial buzz either, I think London might have a golden future ahead.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

Yes, lovely, your picture of London in the Telegraph link, is dominated by the Shard, an Islamic finance building, British at its best.0 -

I can't believe I just read this! Are you a member of the Klu klux Klan?
Road Hog where do you live!0 -
Going BACK to the issue at hand... yes, the frenzy is definitely putting me off. In a matter of months, I've now discovered that anything halfway decent (and most things that aren't) can definitively no longer be achieved under the £250k stamp duty. Which is really, really annoying .0

My top tip for another future hot spot - South Norwood.
Market does seem to going bonkers round here at the moment, a friend of mine who is looking is struggling to find anything they can afford even in South Norwood, I wouldn't be able to afford my flat now if the flyers I get through the door are anything to go on. It's a bit much at the moment and I think it will calm down again soon but I don't think long term (5 years+) you ever loose money in London property.0
