Well if the OP isn't confused I sure as hell am :)

For a start it makes no difference if you are claiming in Scotland or England to claiming the interest and using the Interest Calculator in Martin's article and as we don't actually have the question that was asked by the poster on penaltycharges I've no idea if the answer is right or wrong, however there is absolutely no need for you to start again.

As some of the above posts say, take each and every charge you have and enter it into the calculator with the date it was taken and it will give you a final total. A charge taken back in 2001 will obviously incur more interest than one taken in 2007. Make a list of these along with a description of each charge as this will form part of your defence should you end up taking this claim to court. You don't do this by year and add 8% but by each charge using the calculator.

Once you have done this you are now ready to start your claim on MCOL and will find the information you need for your POC in the Reclaim Help Thread, also read the Capital One thread for help and information.

Always worth listening to Martin's audio file regarding the interest in the article as sometimes you can read too much and listening to Martin explain it makes it easier.

Can we establish please whether you are claiming in Scotland or in England? You can only use MCOL if you have an English address and are prepared to attend a court in England, otherwise your best option is the Financial Ombudsman, also judging from the fact that you, as I have seen in another thread, are claiming more than £750.
    Reclaimed thanks to this site:
