Polymer Clay, anyone?!
Hi all,
Just wondering if we have any crafters in here who like to work with polymer clay?
I've just had the most amazing weekend with polymer clay artist Birdy Heywood where she taught us to make dragons from clay. Thought I'd share the pics of the ones I made with you

Hope you like them!

They are fantastic. What did you use to draw the patterns on the dragons? Pens?0

That's amazing Kevin, I was pleased with myself that I'd made a wee handle for the pull cord for the bathroom light out of some fimo I found in a cupboard,:oBooo!!!0

You make up something called a 'cane' to decorate the dragons with. Think of lots of mini Swiss rolls, all put side by side then a thin slice cut off one end so you see the pattern of the 'cream' on the inside! You then cut lots of those thin slices and use them to cover the dragon
If anyone's curious and wants to learn more or just see lots of fantastic creations then there's a group on Facebook called 'Birdy Heywood Polymer Clay Creations.' It's full of really friendly, talented and supportive people who are all mad about clay!0 -
My favourite of the weekend is the black and white. Reminds me of a zentangle but on a 3D object!0

These dragons are fantastic, I really want to do some clay work but cant get the bits to practise or have time at the moment with my other crafts. Plus I doubt mine would ever look that good x0

Polymer Clay is my first love, Kevie192, for crafting. My most favourite things to make are teeny tiny fairy shoes ... and wands. (I've had some success with them and have sold a handful. I also made a couple as prizes for a competition). I've made some main focal 'beads' (pendants) too - my favourite was a unicorn. I think I have some photographs somewhere, so if I come across them I'll share them here.
ADORE the dragons Kevie and will definitely take a peep at the link - although I don't 'facebook' so might not be able to see the page, but I'll try anyway. I'm so glad that you built this thread! I hadn't seen anyone talk about Polymer so thought that perhaps it was only me who loved it.Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0 -
Thank you for all your kind words! I'd love to see some pics of your work, The Cre8tor0
