scam phonecalls re poor internet connection

just a heads up that they are doing the rounds yet again (if they ever stopped!) just had a call from India from a guy claiming to work for a company that does techie stuff for virgin ,BT talk talk and sky something like ces soloutions and they have detected issues with my comp being slow and they can sort it out if i turn my comp on etc etc. Same old speal. I asked him what internet provider I was with .funnily he didnt know! I kept him talking for abit asked what his religion was what country he was calling from. he seemed abit cinfused as to why I kept wanting. i think he got abit upset when i asked him what his religious good book says about people who scam and steal from others. he put the phone down then.

I had one of these recently myself. Chap was insistent that I had a pc problem and only he could fix it. When I told him that I worked in IT (I don't, but am pretty pc-savvy) he immediately put the 'phone down.

Easy to be wise to these types, but my parents would have been convinced by him and whatever nefarious plans were behind his offer of "help".
