Can You Get Ill Not Having Heating On?

Ive never gone by any rules or regulations as everyones circumstances are different.
When I was a kid we had no heating in our bedrooms at all and only had night light candles (powercuts of the 70s). I lived in an old house with high ceilings and my mum was always complaining it was cold. But with no central heating we too had ice on the inside of the windows on occasions.
I only have storage heaters and I don't feel the cold like those with full gas central heating.
So just do what you feels best for your family. If your cold your cold.. put the heating on if you have to... if your not turn it off. simple!! Health is more important and were all different....0 -
I keep mine at 20 in the living room and about 18 in the bedrooms, I usually have my heating on all day as it's a big 'ol terrrace and takes an age to warm up, so it's cheaper for me to keep it warm.
I tumble dry when I can't use the line, as drying indoors means more heating needed so I think cost wise it's about the same, just all the moisture vents to outside and not in the house.
I find I get condensation and mould if I don't heat the house adequately, so that's not a good idea.
I budget heating as a priority. I appreciate not everyone has that option though, and we all have to do as best as we can.0
