I felt sympathy for the man who got upset when he talked about using food banks.

    Stuff happens in life.

Best laid plans and all that.

Back it the 70s if I had made the decision to rent and have children I would probably still be renting now.

It's tough if you are single on low wages and trying to support 2 but he had a 20 year old son who unless he was in full time education could have helped even if it was just £25 a week out of his job seekers.

Not surprising when we simply buy anything of value in.

We "exported" the skills and the jobs.

I put it down to the fact that 5 years hard graft doing an engineering apprenticeship (for example) isn't what many want to do. Short termism is the key. Buy a property and let it is far easy and more profitable. Or borrow as much as you can and default on the debt. Why bother working for a pittance.

For those that do bother. The rewards will be there. As demand for skills will grow.

    Just watched this on iPlayer.

I struggle to think of a more melodramatic, ignorant, illogical piece of nonsense parading as journalism... ever.

    Errr.... not that I noticed.

    Plenty of pointless posturing, though.

just in case you ever need to know

the way to get some-one to cry on TV is to ask a question and then keep silent... they fill the void by crying

obviously depends upon the circumstances but works most of the time

why would any sane person cry because they used a foodbank?
