For the curry's comp. I've no idea how they advertised it, but it seems to have very low take up. (I haven't won it, few more days to hope!)

I've got to assume Kiss has a pretty large audience of 16-25 year olds, and it isn't an "unwinnable" amount so it gets past the "I'll never win" mentality.

I'd quite love to know their entry numbers, got to be in the 10s of thousands.
