Completion date

Am I right that you have to agree a completion date before exchange of contracts? After exchnage, can the completion date be changed by either party? We need a month between exchange and completion, as boyf needs to give notice on rented flat. If the vendors agree to this, can they try and bring it forward after we've exchanged? It's just us and them in transaction.

As long as it says the completion date on the contract when you exchange, the vendor can't change that.
Your boyfriend amy need to give one months notice, which needs to end on a rent day, so be careful as it could be nearer to two months notice if you don't time it right!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You need to exchange just before one rent day with a view to completing just before the next.0
