Royal Mail Compensation

I sell quite alot on amazon and ebay. I tend to send standard for most items. Costs £100+ extra for sending 100 items recorded so if i lose 1-3% at £10 each its still much better off.

But i was thinking about starting to claim for losses.

1. I normally put stamps on and put in post box, can i still claim?
2. Can i claim if my receipt just say 20x£1.10 and 2 go missing?
3. Do I need receipt of posting with address written on to claim?

    1) No
    2) unlikely
    3) yes

    Claims require a certificate of posting which shows the basic address in house number/post code format at least (it can be handwritten). A receipt for postage paid is not proof of postage.

    i thought with minimum info (all of list A) they offer stamps. If you have more info (all of list A and B) they offer cash.

    List A
    The minimum information we need from you for any claim is:
    Name and full address of the sender and intended recipient
    The amount of postage paid
    Where the letter or parcel was posted
    Item reference number (All trackable services)
    Description of the contents (not required for Inland delay claims)
    List B
    For compensation, you must also provide:
    Original proof of posting e.g Post Office® receipt (certificate of posting), On-Line postage receipt (stamped at Post Office®) or copy of Docket Book
    Original proof of value if claiming for the contents, eg. till receipt, bank statement, etc
    The damaged item and packaging (for damage claims only and where safe to do so)
    In addition to the above, eBay claims must be accompanied by the item sale page and Paypal or bank/credit statement

    You won't get compensation for items just stuffed in a post box. They will write back and say you need a proof of postage.
