Simply Gym ARE AWFUL!!!

I joined Simply Gym in Tilehurst, it is a month to month contract so you can cancel anytime.

I went to the Gym once, hated it and told the person working behind the desk that its awful. Equipment is absolutely AWFUL, falling apart rubbish...

To my absolute amazement I got a letter from a company called Harlands Debt Collection Agency saying i owe them £114.99 NOW and they are aggressively hunting me for this £114.99.

I just can not understand what is going on in this country... MONEY SUCKING LEACHES AROUND EVERY CORNER.

These people do not deserve £114.99 from me.

Are you sure you're not on a yearly contract?

Cancelling is as simple as joining up. If you are on a monthly contract, once your first payment has cleared you are free to cancel at any time. Simply do this via your bank who can terminate your Direct Debit. If you are on a 12 month contract the price is so good, we do expect you to make all 12 payments! However we are able to cancel your membership early if your circumstances change to prevent gym usage (proof may be required). Please contact Harlands on 0871 2502423 or email c.service@harlandsgroup.co.uk to discuss. (Calls to this number cost 10p/minute including VAT from a BT landline. Calls from other operators and mobile phones cost more.)

You need to write to them to cancel... Otherwise they will keep shafting you for money... I bet companies like this make millions of people that dont use NOR want their rubbish product

If it's a monthly contract you just cancel your direct debit. These cheap gyms all work that way.

The OP must have had a yearly contract.
