You need to contact your distibutor.
In the South West it's Western Power Distribution.
The energy supply companies (British Gas etc) in our area try to charge for some services that Western Power give for free. One example is temporary disconnection of the electricity supply to allow safe working to change CUs etc.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

One other thing I picked up on was that our electrician is from London and whilst he set up the terminal for it to be connected to by EDF it turned out that EDF could not accept his terminal as it was not accepted by EDF in the South East. What he set up is accepted in London! Very strange indeed that the electricity companies are not standardised.
Once you apply to have your service moved, they should supply you with a pack as to what is required. If not, ask them what ducting is suitable (the one I had to get was from Jewson), you will be required to buy the new meter box for the Electricity and make sure your electrician is familiar with what the set-up should be in your area for the new service to be connected to.

Hi,
contact your electricity and gas suppliers and ask them for a quote, you are going to have to contact them anyway if you want the jobs done.0 -

Transco for that one and the other poster is right - it is not cheap!
They tend to charge on bands. We had ours moved and were measured at around 0.5 metres over the cheapest band. That put another £200 on the quote!
I challenged this with them and they altered the quote to the cheapest band. They simply estimate the distance to be covered from aireal maps, they don't get the tape measure out, so there is often some margin for negotiation, if you know what I meanBehind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
