Watch Out: Halifax Reward hadn't paid my £5 for a few months!

I have a Halifax account that rewards me £5 each month as long as I have 700 going in each month and 2 standing orders. I noticed lately that they hadn't paid the £5 even though I full filled the criteria each month! I have got onto them and they couldn't explain why. I found out today that this has happened with one of my friends but they haven't bothered to follow it up! Guys check your accounts!

The terms and conditions changed earlier this year. You should have received a communication about it. You don't get the reward if your account balance goes in the red at any time during the month or if you do not have two direct debits coming out of the account in the month.

Also, I believe it's £750 per month that needs to be lodged.

Neither of these two fulfills any of the mandatory pre-reqs, which would explain why you weren't paid your fivers.

So you didn't receive the notice in January that you need to have 2 paid DDs and £750 per month to get the £5 ? In which case they gave you 2 months from when the rules came into effect and since you still didn't comply with the new rules, they ceased giving you the £5's.

Personally I've received my £5 for every month this year so far.

Sorry, it's not 2 standing orders I have but 2 direct debits..... actually come to thing about its 3. And there is more than 750 in a month. They have refunded me so there was obviously something wrong

Do you go overdrawn? Did you have those direct debits in place at the start of April (I think this was a cut off date)?

Just because they've refunded you doesn't mean something's wrong. It might do, but it could equally mean they want to shut you up.

Have they explained why it's not paying you?

no everything in my account is in the green, always has been. the guy SAID that there is no reason why it just may be a blip.
