Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could help.

I have checked my credit report with Experian and Equifax.

Both are decent scores, one saying good and one excellent

However my equifax one shows 6 searches, but this is spread over 2 addresses. So 3 at each address, but both for the same thing as i have lived at my current address for less than 3 years.

They are for, my phone in May, a decision in principle for a new mortgage and my car both in October.

I have just changed my utility bills to a different company, does this mean i am now going to have 8 searches on my file.

Will this be a bad thing, as none of them are for new credit cards or bank loans and i am currently only using about 2% of my available credit.

Im just wondering if this is going to affect our mortgage application, as there is a chance we will not be going with the company that has given us a decision in princple as we have now found a cheaper rate through a broker and we didnt realise a DIP included a credit search, i just thought it was to tell us how much we could borrow as we are already with that bank for a mortgage

Unfortuantly credit scores sold by the likes of experian & equifax are very meanigless numbers sold for profit.

It's what's on your credit report that matters.

What your credit history like.credit cards? Loans etc?

    Thanks for the reply.

Overall I think its good, only one late payment that was a day late on a credit card through my fault paid as soon as i knew back in January and have paid in full every month since, never missed a payment on anything else.

My car and mortgage etc have never had a missed payment and i recently settled a car loan before getting a new car.
