At risk of redundancy and considering starting own business

I've been told if you're at risk of redundancy there are grants you can apply for to start your own business, I've been looking for a few days and I'm struggling to find anything. I'll admit I was surprised there might still be grants as opposed to loans available for small business start up, I don't really know who to turn to to ask now business link are gone. Does anyone know of anywhere I might find some grant information?
