Slipped 'conservatory' lean to roof panel - panel wont slide back

Hi All,
I have an extension at the back of my basement flat. I understand this to be a 'lean to' roof. With 3 sheets of plastic forming the roof.
One of the sheets (on the wall side) has clearly slipped down creating a small gap.
On the outside the cap has been forced off by this movement.
There's no leak as yet, but obviously I'm concerned this will continue to slide down and create a bigger problem.
Reading posts on MSE and other forums, the suggestion is to slide the roof back up, then attach a new cap from one of the repair kits available on the internet.
Problem I have is that the roof does not seem to want to slide back at all, even with someone inside 'lifting the roof'. I'm loathed to call out a tradesmen, as it will no doubt be expensive (and likely overpriced).
Does anyone have any advice on next steps to take. - be a little more agressive with the roof? knock back with rubber mallet for example.
Any advice hugely appreciated! I've taken some photos but don't seem to able to upload them on here.
