Hi, I cannot use the timer function on my central heating control panel because it says "Service Required" it will go no for 1 hour and con only be switched manually!! Its a "Siemans RWB29Si" one.
How can I reset this function as its getting colder and want to have heating on for when I get home.
I will get an engineer in but need this asap.
Thanks
Any help appreciated!:j

get it serviced, the installer that put it in has set the service mode, get him back for a service & he will re-set itI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Hi Thanks for the reply, I am intending to get it serviced as I said. BUT I cannot get the original installer as I have bought under the Right to Buy in September and the council installed it!
Can anyone help with the original prob? Thanks

Did you ever solve this problem?
I just moved in to a new house and ours is saying the same. Very annoying that it doesn't say anywhere in the manual!0 -

Thanks for the helpful reply.
I know why it is thank you.... being a moneysaving site I thought I'd ask before getting someone out or more likely I'll just swap it for a rwb29 that doesn't have the service interval issue.
I've got the paperwork from the last owners showing that the boiler was serviced 6 months ago (was previously let out) so they obviously didn't reset it then.0 -
Don't worry - I've figured it out and have now reset the service interval.0

it's there to protect the boiler by insuring that the boiler is serviced on a regular basis, if customers could just switch it off then they may not get the boiler serviced, i know it can be annoying for some, why don't you get the guy back who serviced it to re-set it if you have the paperworkI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Yes I understand the reasoning behind it but given that I can just as easily swap it for any other model (the rwb29 for example) that doesn't have a service indicator on it makes a mockery of the whole thing and I didn't want to waste the money on a call out / another unit. Also the unit still works albeit only for an hour a time before you have to press the button again.
My car reminds me to get a service as well (and I do of course) but could you imagine what would happen if the service indicator got down to zero and then it decided that it wouldn't get out of first gear until I've had it serviced.
Anyway after all that it wasn't that hard to reset the service interval on the rwb29si using a bit of common sense.0 -
Hi,
As knocker01 put in their post I also appreciate the reason behind the setting of the reminder But currently I am looking after (living with) a sick elderly relative and therefor not at home so the last thing I want is for my pipes to freeze. As I have stated previously I was not responsible for the maintenance of the boiler and it was contracted out thus the installer is a no go!
I thank southcoastrgi for their replies and for pointing out the reason that I find myself in this situation but please, if you cannot offer anymore help please try to withhold you sarcastic comments "now i wonder why this is" as this offers no support guidance or information. As I have said thanks southcoastrgi for the reply and I hope no offence is taken.
So can anyone help with this with what I should do apart from getting an engineer which I intend to do, so in the short term with the weather dropping - how do I reset this timer??
