SAPA aluminium double glazing - any experience?

I need to replace aging Crittall casement windows and am not keen on upvc. I've had what seems like an OK quote from a local company (Hardwood prices are above my budget) and I wonder if anyone can give me any useful info/personal experience/potential issues to watch for on new aluminium double glazed units as there seem to be so little consumer info & reviews available online?

depends on your budget, I am surprised at hardoow being out of your budget, aluminium tends to be the same sort of money. I would recommend contacting duration windows and asking them to recommend a local supplier (they are a manufacturer) i have always found them good to deal with. if you google duration windows youll get their website and phone number.
remember although they make good windows, that doesnt mean the installer cant make a bodge so ask around your friends as to who has had good work done. All window firms can get ali get your three quotes from recommends

I've had two quotes very recently (and quite a few in the past for UPVC). It's about £7k for the aluminium and £12K for hardwood! Also live on a busy road, so I'm hoping the aluminium will stand up to the environmental assault better and not discolour as badly as UPVC. There are two manufacturers nearby; but I will check out Duration. Thanks.
