My Hoover has just blown up :(

That's the 3rd thing in a week I've dropped the salad drawer out of the fridge and cracked it , ive dropped the iron and melted the carpet in the dining room and now my Hoover is sparking and crackling

They say they come in threes.
• At last a nice bright sunny day even though a bit on the nippy side. So I have lots of washing to catch up on.

The living room looks like a tip because DH has opened up the fireplace ready for the stove to be fitted and we are really gutted because the stove we ordered is too big and is not going to fit without taking out the lintel and fitting a new one, that is not a job that DH feels qualified enough to do, we phoned the company yesterday so they know about it, and we have to go and take the measurements down to them and choose a smaller stove on the way back from the hospital tomorrow :(

Christmas cake didn't get made because of all the dust that was flying around and DH is putting in fire bricks today so it is probably not going to get done until Tuesday now, I don't want to leave it any later than than that.

Dinner is roast pork for the boys, a chicken breast for me and a quorn fillet for DD. I don't do pork very often because I am allergic to pork but not to gammon or bacon maybe it is the curing process I don't know, I just know that if I eat pork I come out in a rash all over  and DD is vegetarian.
The only reason that I am doing it is that I got a lovely piece reduced to £3 in the co-op and I can freeze the left overs for another meal for the boys :D

Have a lovely 40th anniversary Mr and Mrs Donny animated-smileys-drinking-018.gif

Morning all!
Happy anniversary Mr&Mrs Donny Gal!
Sun is shining here just now, but the frost still thick outside, the car was frozen solid when I went out at 7.30 last night:eek: so today I will be hunting the scraper and deicer, they are in a bag in a cupboard somewhere from when I emptied out the old car.
Brisket in the slow cooker for dinner, the leftovers will be frozen in gravy for a later date.
Better get my rear ingear, still sitting in my jammies, have a good day all!
RIP Iain

Baby shower day :D I found out there's LOADS of people going, and there will be games. I'm worried now, I don't do well in big groups. I know the pub well, so know the escape routes if I need some peace for a few minutes. I really hate this, the baby is my nephew and I want to be able to throw myself into it like everyone else. Still, E will love it so I'll watch her enjoy herself :D
Oh dear.... games. I don't get dragged into this sort of thing, if I have to attend something, I get left in the corner in my wheelchair (which suits me fine, btw) - but you know what? In your position, I'd be inclined to shove a crepe bandage on my ankle, say I'd twisted it and it's painful and therefore can't do a lot, and sit back and watch the others make fools of themselves.;):D

Bonnie's a funny one - according to the information sheet, she doesn't like the vacuum if it's being operated by a man, but is ok with women vacuuming. Anyways, she was fine while I put the Dys0n round - just took herself off to the bedroom while I did the lounge. My theory is that some man-child (iykwim) has chased her with the vacuum, thinking it was funny, and scared her, so now she thinks man + vacuum = Bad Thing.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
• DD arrived and we had a nice long natter and I fed her strangled eggs and many cups of coffee :):) She showed me a video on her Iphone of DGS Danny dancing with Terry Wogan and Dan is dressed up as Pudsey Bear. Its going to be on the 'CIN Pointless' programme he also go to boogie with Esther Rantzen:):) whom he said was very nice and quite pleasant. He loves working on Pointless and has been on virtually since it first started. He and his lovely girlfriend Hayley both are researchers on there. he said they are such a friendly lot and make a great team when they are all working together.
I have just made a nice 2 litres of cauliflower soup and it tastes delicious. All bottled up and ready for lunches this week.
Just going to take myself off for a walk around the country park as the sun is out and some fresh air will do me good.Got to make the most of the nice bright weather . I have also made a lasagne for tomorrow lunch as my friend is coming down for the day from Dartford.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday

A late post for me. Just arrived back home, had the A1 closed on us, but fortunately spotted a sign early on and the checked out the BBC web site, and took avoiding action, and missed the queue, then joined the suggested diversion route, which ground to a halt, so took the next turn off (I love map reading and DH calls them my Magical Mystery Tours), but that took us too near the problem area, so headed back South and then re-routed ourselves back on the opposite side of the A1, and took us via Lincolnshire, and past the pub we went to on our first date many moons ago.

Just wanted to say a Thank You for all your good wishes, we had a lovely weekend, and managed not to break the camera when we had an up to date photo taken, on FB.

Had a hot drink - back to the diet tomorrow.
