Please help
first time buyers and a hiccup on credit report
Me and my partner have put an offer in on a property and thought we had no problems with either of our credit as neither of us has ever missed a payment or been refused credit etc.
However today we went to get the ball rolling to get our mortgage put in place and unfortunately this was rejected.
Our mortgage advisor recommended we do a credit report check on both of us and unfortunately there had been a mishap on my record.
I think this is my fault but without knowledge.....i have a catalog which i very rarely use, however back in june or july i ordered several items amounting to over £100. I returned all items within the time frame, however for some reason i was under the impression that if i spent over £50 or £75 it was free delivery.
I had not checked my account with this company as i knew i had no credit outstanding with them.....turns out however they did charge me delivery of £3.95 and now i havent paid it for 2 months. I rang them immediately and explained what had happened and paid the £4.25 (which now included interest) i was devestated and asked if this would affect my credit rating which they strongly advised wouldnt...............however it clearly is
Is there anything i can do? Never in my life have i missed a payment and am devestated to think i now have but even more so that £3.95 is going to ruined my chance of getting my flat and my foot on the ladder.....any help would be greatly appriciated?:o:(

Unlikely this is the cause of you not being able to obtain a mortgage.0

Agreed don't think this is the issue, do you both have a lot of credit taken out? Are you both on the electoral roll?0
