what next for this PPI claim?

I received a letter from MBNA a few ,months ago about their investigations into PPI misselling and was asked to fill in a form.
It was a card I took out for a balance transfer and is now closed.
I got a letter today telling me that I had willingly accepted the PPI and they had telephone recording proof of this. They also said that I needed it despite the fact my employment at the time would have covered me for payments should I needed it.
I do not remember opening a CC over the phone. So i'm a bit baffled about this letter. I wasn't entirely sure I had ppi on it as it was just for balance transfer for I am slightly baffled.
They enclosed a leaflet from the FLA too, is this just a hint to contact them?

I am not sure what you mean that your employer would have covered you.
Possibly sick pay.
However, if you really think you have a case I would suggest you try FOS now.0 -

Thanks for your reply
I mean sick pay. I was working for a local authority at the time so had I been ill my sick pay would have covered me.
I will look into the FOS. Thanks again.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

I think you will struggle to win this at the FOS. If MBNA have a copy of the call that will be the foundation, without doubt as to whether you win or lose.
I am not sure what year you took out the credit card, but it would have been given without advice, they would have checked your eligibility for the product. As part of the product agreement script that was read out, you had to agree i.e, say "yes", three times in order for the sale to be considered valid and to confirm your understanding of the product. They will have then sent you a copy of the terms and conditions applicable to the product that you should have read when received.0
