We went down the KC route, she has been here just over a week and holy Moses, it's like the Tasmanian devil came to town.
Don't be fooled by those puppy dog eyes, satan himself created her. She would have you believe she is never fed, can only be handled buy someone in a spacesuit if they want to keep their limbs and has to be policed at all waking hours to prevent blowing herself up, leaping up the stairs or ingesting, oh anything.
She is smart as a whip, completely house trained in less than a week and knows all her basic commands. The kids are still a bit wary of her as she is mouthy as hell but we are VERY slowly dealing with that. I was able to come down this morning in bare feet and not become attached to her needles. My sons brand new, birthday Sonic theHedgehog slippers sadly are well mauled.
The whole of the house is strewn with various dog paraphernalia, a massive crate in front of the telly, bedding dragged and left wherever, toys. It's like having a demented toddler who found a tin of red bull.
As I type, the minx is spark out in front of the fire, she's a right hussy and been mothers little helper all week but now my husband is off and home, the skitter hasn't looked left or right at me!
She is on the list for the next set of puppy classes after she recieves her second set of jabs, the poor thing has been dragged everywhere in our arms, school runs, the shops, The Royal Mail sorting office and I have had her out the back on her lead.
I have still been lurking and reading all your goings on and can't wait to share the joy (HA!) that is the shadpad!
This made me howl :rotfl:

Ha Ha! Another cute Black Lab victim. I'm glad I'm not alone. Yes, NAM, walking dustbins, into everything, needle sharp teeth. Just wait until the coat starts to drop.
But they're beautiful dogs. Those big innocent looking eyes. And they're very quick on the uptake. I was going to call Bailie Shadow because she used to follow me around everywhere (either that or Sherlock) and I capitalised on it by having her off the lead asap after her injections. However, now, at 7 months she's more interested in what she can scavenge from underneath the bushes than she is in following me.
I'm so, so pleased for you. Keep posting.

Oh, now I've figured out photo bucket and I am sure I will be needing tonnes of advice, I certainly will be posting.
I was thinking of Sherlock or Bram had she been a boy, great minds and all that.
Now we are ensconced in the mo in laws, I have to bring the equivalent of baby changing bag - a bed, food, bowls, toys etc etc. she has had a good old sniff around, out for a wee, showing off of her tricks and now away for a kip. Wish I was her.Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

It's not forever though, dragging all the gear with you. They soon grow up!:(
I wish I could sort out photo bucket, but I need somebody to physically show me how to do it as I'm useless at following instructions!

I maintain that the only reason Labrador puppies are so cute is to stop you killing them. Then again, I think the same about babies. :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I can't stop looking at her! I've never really wanted a dog before but I could be swayed with eyes like that

She is very lovely, when she's occupied, eating or sleeping. Hubby off on a long weekend and I legged it to the gym for an hour. You definitely need a teeny break as puppies are intense. Shadow learns something new approximately every hour, wether it is a good, bad or indifferent thing. This morning I managed to drop a dirty sock from th laundry basket and instead of innocently trying to ingest it in front of me, she grabbed it, looked at me and took off like a bat out of hell with her prize!Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
