Samsung galaxy tab 2 or 3

Hope someone can help

I'm on a tight budget and for my husbands birthday last week I purchased a tab 2 from asda for £99 and I've just seen the tab 3 on currys site for £139.99 and you get £20 cash back so it would only cost £30 more for the tab 3. (Less the cost to return the tab2 to asda)

My question is, is it worth it or do you think the tab 2 would be sufficient. I really don't know the difference between the two? He would just use it for surfing the internet, social networking and the odd game of candy crush

Both are same size.

Tab 3 has better camera At 1.3 whereas Tab has .3 megapixel. Same Battery size. Tab 3 has better processor, same screen resolution, although Tab 2 has better viewing angle.

Main difference is going to be the Android version. Samsung said Tab won't have any more upgrades, so 4.2.2 is what is it. (but may change there mind). Tab comes with 4.2 and will get upgrade to 4.4 and possibly the next one after that.

So not a lot of difference between the 2.
