Listing changes

Just listing a few items today after a short break and noticed a few changes. One of them is the option that Ebay will list the item for free 3 times if it doesn't sell. Have I understood this right? So if I list today for £1+ items, it is free this weekend. But if they don't sell, they will automatically list for free even if it doesn't fall on a free listing day???? And it won't come out of the 100 free listing quota? When did that happen? Am I missing something here?

News to me. Can you show us where it says this?
You normally get to relist for free in some cases if the item does not sell first time - but FREE listings are excluded.
Any new scheme i am unaware of.0 -

Now I am getting worried! I have listed 2 new items today and both times it came up - there was a small box that was already ticked. It didn't show up when I did "sell similar". I'll try one more and this time make a note of everything. If you do happen to list "new" items and notice something, please let me know. Thanks.0 -
Listed another new item and this is how it was-
1st stage - item description, photos etc.
2nd stage - set price etc
3rd stage - postage etc
4th stage - Review. Under the selling preferences, there is a
box which is already ticked and next to it is written
"Automatically relist this item upto 3 times if it doesn't
sell".
Then when the item is listed it comes up with "good job your item
is listed etc etc..........
and at the bottom it says "Don't worry, if your item doesn't sell,
it'll relist automatically.
My question is if it relists automatically will I have a choice of how many days listing and on what day it should finish? And if the items are over £1 will it charge me insertion fee?
It is a different layout and I haven't listed any new items in the last few weeks so don't know when the changes happened.0 -
It will list it automatically but not for free! It will be the same listing length and details as the original listing but you will be charged the insertion fee.0

Really? So I should untick that box shouldn't I? I'm sure many people will be caught out. So for the ones that are already listed, what can I do to avoid the listing fees if they don't sell?0 -
Yes, my listing form has completely changed. It's taken me an hour to list 6 items. I'm totally confused, it's like when the supermarkets change all their store around and you can't find anything.
It does say that items will be relisted for free 3 times and will not count towards the 100 free listings. I unticked the option though as I like to be in control of when my auctions finish and how long they last.0 -
Yes, it's new. I listed this item and then deleted because when I came to next listing using old method all my buyer requirement settings had been removed. There is no option to check these in this new method. Message at start from eBay seemed to be intimating that private sellers should use new method and advanced is only suitable for businesses. Think I'll stick with what I'm used to although automatic free relists is tempting....

I haven't seen this yet thought it was the old automatically relist which would have charged. It does look like it would be free so will have to look at that!0
