Where to stand at Oulton Park??

Hello

I'm going over to Oulton Park for the British Touring Cars racing on Sunday 24th June and have never been before.

I'll be buying my ticket on the gate (not very MSE) and was wondering if anyone has some tips for the best viewing point.

Cheers

Ben

'm not sure whether the BTCC cars use the whole circuit, bu the best places to view are on the inside and outside of Deer Leap and the corner prior which is Lodge corner. When I was there for the BSB it got very busy round that area. If you go on the outside of that corner and deer leap you have to cross there and they only open the crossway between races.

Clay Hill and Knickerbrook are also good viewing and there is a bridge to cross over with.

have a look at the map

When the touring cars are on it's extremely busy, so be prepared to set off early or queue to drive in! It's worth doing the Pitwalk to get the atmosphere but it's so packed and I find it a bit claustrophobic.

We usually have a wander round the circuit but our favourite spot if staying put for a while is on Hill Top...you can see the cars coming down Cascades (often quite a few incidents) in front of you, then part way along Lakeside, and then infront of you, round Knickerbrook and part way up Clay Hill.

Take a picnic or BBQ unless you like burgers n chips, waterproof clothing and a brolly (just in case), a portable chair or a blanket to sit on. As you haven't been before, maybe buy a programme (think they're usually about a fiver) they always have a good map and lots of info about the drivers, championship etc you may find useful.

Have a great time...secretly jealous cos I can't go this time!
